DescriptionTwin Palms has many interesting stories about it and one day when I have the time I’ll tell you al about them. In 1998 I (Carey Lee Gibson Symons) purchased Twin Palms from Mrs Coombs. Twin Palms was a mess; it was run down and a real eye sore, however the vision that came to mind was so exciting that I made a deal (with the expert advice of my husband John) with Mrs Coombs. We bought Twin Palms from her and let her live in her little house on the property until she passed away – well the rest is history. Mrs Coombs went to Heaven and “FLEURDALE” was born. With my very strong Christian principals and a very supportive husband the excitement and vision of what I hoped to achieve started to materialize. Six months after I bought Twin Palms we opened Fleurdale – we had 450 visitors through FLEURDALE in that particular day in September. FLEURDALE was officially opened by Rev Dick Mahane who quoted from Psalms: “If the Lord does not build the house the laborers will labor in vain”. We do not labor in vain at FLEURDALE and have succeeded in our vision and we pray that God will continue his work here.FLEURDALE has always supported local business and in turn has benefited by the support of local business. We employ 15 staff and over the years have empowered many of them by offering them courses and allowing them to enjoy the benefits of hard work of their loyal support. FLEURDALE has grown, we started by running a bed and breakfast and have now branched out into a farmstall/coffee shop with a beautiful nursery and have started a small conference facility. We have had plans drawn for a large conference facility and an additional wing of rooms – hopefully this new venture will be up and running by next year? There is always something exciting happening at FLEURDALE be it a new room or a new menu, a new lady n the kitchen or the baby birds in the birdbaths, there is peace and tranquility and we extend a warm and welcoming invitation to you to visit us and take home a piece of peace and love from Fleurdale. God Bless and lots of love. CAREY SYMONS Accommodation
