DescriptionElbow's Rest Self Catering Establishment, situated in the heart of the Hilton Village, is only 10 minutes away from Pietermaritzburg, the Capital City of the Kwa Zulu Natal Province.The Midlands Region is centred on the City.
We have a long established reputation as a family centred environment, where the comfort, care and privacy of our guests, in our 3 self catering Units, is our first priority. Our Units are 4 Star Graded by the TGCSA.
The rural climate of Hilton is invigorating, with its warm summers and cool winters a noted feature, while the year round lush green vegetation adds to its reputation of desirability.
In the village itself, there are two shopping centres, which are most adequate for the basic daily needs, while the Maritzburg Liberty Mall will satisfy the most discerning shoppers. Our small restaurants in Hilton are to be commended .
The Independent School base in the Midlands is in Hilton, - with Hilton College, St Anne's, Grace College and Cowan House very close to us, while Michaelhouse is 20 minutes away on the R103 ROUTE.
The Midlands Meander starts in Hilton and stretches through to Mooi River and includes attractions such as the Midmar Dam, Umgeni Valley Ranch, Karkloof Canopy Tour and the Howick and Karkloof Falls. The Drakensberg Resorts are only just over an hour away.
Annual Events which are drawcards to our area are the Midmar Mile, The Dusi Canoe Race on the Umgeni River, the Comrades Marathon, National and Provincial Mountain Biking Competitions, as well as the Royal Show and Spring Garden Festival. Accommodation has Three 4 Star TGCSA Graded Self catering Units, which are separate from the main house, ensuring privacy for guests and hosts alike. They are spacious, well furnished and equipped and geared for family comfort.There are twin beds in each of the Units.One Unit has a small loft upstairs with two single beds, while there is always an option of an extra bed or couch in the other two units. The small kitchens are well set up and form an integral part of the Unit. Each Unit opens on to its own private small garden braai patio. The Units open on to the parking area, which is secure and accessed through an electronic gate. The Units are serviced daily and attention to the needs of our guests is always our priority. The Hilton Hotel will be on your left hand side. At the Shell Service Station turn left into Park Lane and then right into Azalea Drive. Elbow's Rest is 500 metres down the road, on the left hand side at 15 a Azalea Drive.
Travelling from Pietermaritzburg up the R103, turn right at Crossways Inn into Hilton Avenue . The Quarry Centre and St Anne's DSG are en route. Travel over the railway bridge and turn right into Park Lane, which is opposite the Shell Garage
