The jewel of the Elephant Coast is un-mistakenly The Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, with its array of amenities. Since the sunrises on the East Coast over the ocean, the mornings are the most exquisite time of the day on the St. Lucia beaches. It is this time of the day when Dolphins frolic in the waves while smaller creatures play on the golden brown beaches.

With less than 60 km from St. Lucia, through the cultural heartland of the Elephant Coast, is the World Renowned Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Reserves. Game drives to the Big Five Reserve also commences before sunrise. The saying, "The early birds catches the worm", is true when it concerns The Big African Cats. Lions stroll around in the morning before the heat of the day forces them to retire to shady areas under the trees.

Mid morning snorkelling at Cape Vidal is best before the wind picks up at mid day. The bay at Cape Vidal is a natural protected swimming area with no shark nets or lifesaver to protect the city dweller. The adventure seeker is protected by his/her wits and loving Mother Nature.

The afternoons are best utilized around the swimming pool or a visit to the crocodile center. This could lead to a relaxing sundowner boat cruise on the lake system or on the deck at the ski-boat club, observing hippo and crocodiles in their natural surroundings.
